As digital technology and internet networks continue to develop rapidly, citizens now have greater opportunities to actively participate in social and economic life by using information technology to identify, obtain, evaluate, share, integrate, and create the information they need.
As the use of digital services and technologies increases, improving citizens’ digital skills, especially enhancing accessibility for persons with disabilities has become an increasingly important issue.
Since March 2022, the “E-Mongolia Academy” SOE has been regularly organizing digital skills training programs aimed at improving nationwide digital literacy. Attention has been given to strengthening the digital skills of senior citizens and people with disabilities, while reducing digital inequality.
Within this initiative, on March 4, 2026, the E-Mongolia Academy, in cooperation with the General Authority for the Development of Persons with Disabilities, National Information Technology Park, and the National Federation of the Blind of Mongolia, organized an information technology skills training program specifically designed for citizens with visual impairments.
The training program will run for three weeks and consists of a total of 60 instructional hours combining both theoretical and practical learning. Participants will gain the following skills:
- Using computers and smartphones and working with screen reader software
- Working with digital information, processing information, and sharing content
- Accessing digital services and using social media and communication tools
This training is highly significant in supporting the education, employment, and social participation of citizens with visual impairments, while also promoting equal opportunities in the digital environment.
