Applications for the “Student Soldier Preliminary Enrollment” military specialty training program will be accepted through the unified government service system E-Mongolia from 09:00 on March 1, 2026, until 23:59 on March 10, 2026.
According to the “Regulation on Providing Military Specialization Training to Student Soldiers,” approved by Government Resolution No. 85 of 2025, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be a first-, second-, or third-year student at an accredited university operating in Mongolia
- Have a GPA above 2.8 during the first semester of the current academic year
- Be at least 18 years old before June 15, 2026
- Have paid health insurance contributions during the past year
Applications will be reviewed by the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia between March 11 and March 17, 2026. Responses regarding the application status will be sent via email and through the E-Mongolia system.
Students studying at colleges and vocational training centers must apply in person at the Military Staff Office of their respective province or district Governor’s Office by submitting the following documents: application letter requesting participation in the training, certification from their educational institution, permission letter approving participation in the training, academic transcript.
This year’s “Student Soldier Preliminary Enrollment” military specialty training program is notable because participants may choose from 13 military specialties, and second- and third-year university students are eligible to participate. In addition, theoretical training will be conducted through four types of courses, allowing students to obtain junior military specialization skills related to their field of study. This year’s program will also place greater emphasis on patriotic education.
Since the program was first launched in 2014, more than 10,000 students from universities, colleges, and vocational training centers in both urban and rural areas have participated, received military specialization training, and been registered as first-class reserve personnel.
