Since 1981, the United Nations has been marking Dcemeber 3rd as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
This year, the UN is celebrating the day under the slogan “ Let’s increase the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future”.
In Mongolia, as of mid-2024, there are 102,400 citizens with disabilities.As of today, 49,996 disability cards have been created in the E-Mongolia system, and these citizens are receiving government services online.
The “E-Mongolia Academy” state owned enterprise, has ensured accessibility by developing the E-Mongolia system according to the international WCAG guidelines, enabling smooth use of the integrated government service system. In particular, 12,892 visually impaired citizens can now access government services with the help of screen reader programs.
Additionally, the Training Department of the “E-Mongolia Academy” state owned enterprise, regularly organizes training to enhance the digital skills of persons with disabilities, achieving significant results.

- 662 citizens trained in digital skills for persons with disabilities
- 836 citizens trained in accessible information technology
- To increase the accessibility of information technology for visually impaired citizens, training has been organized under the “Accessible Technology” program. Over 312 hours of training have been conducted across 5 sessions, empowering 24 visually impaired citizens and awarding them certificates.
