One of the first major practical difficulties faced by citizens and businesses establishing new legal entities in Mongolia has been the process of obtaining a seal and stamp control number. Previously, obtaining this control number required preparing numerous documents, visiting government offices in person, and repeatedly making corrections and revisions, resulting in a time-consuming and costly process.
The E-Mongolia Academy, in cooperation with the General Authority for State Registration, has now successfully introduced the “Seal and Stamp Control Number” service into the E-Business system. As a result, newly established companies can now access the service electronically in a faster and more accessible manner.
The seal and stamp control number is a key verification mechanism confirming that a legal entity’s official seal is valid, unique, and legally registered. In other words, without this control number, the ability to conclude contracts and access certain public and private sector services is restricted.
Therefore, by digitalizing this service, the government is reducing one of the initial difficulties faced by startups and small and medium-sized enterprises when establishing a business.
How to Obtain a Seal and Stamp Control Number:
- Log into the E-Business system using the account of the company applying for the seal and stamp. Under the “State Registration” menu, select the service titled “Issue Seal and Stamp Control Number” and click the “Receive Service” button.
- Enter your contact information and select the seal company based on its location and address information. Once submitted, your request will be successfully sent.
- Contact your selected seal company to have your official seal and stamp produced.
Important notes: If your request has previously reached the status of “Approved,” you cannot apply for the service again. Requests may only be canceled and resubmitted while they remain in “Submitted” or “Processing” status. Once the legal entity name has been approved and registered with the state registration authority, the seal and stamp control number is automatically generated. Only one request may be submitted per company. If the wrong company was selected or the request cannot proceed for another reason, the request may be canceled.
The digitalization of this service has reduced the workload of government agencies, minimized the need for citizens to visit offices in person, shortened service processing times, and reduced the risk of duplicate information and errors.
