According to the 2021 survey by the United Nations Development Program, elderly citizens and those with special needs in Mongolia possess the lowest, and in some cases insufficient, levels of digital skills compared to the demographic groups.
Although the elderly are increasingly using social media and making online purchases, the high number of cyberattacks and online fraud victims remains a significant concern, underscoring the urgent need for targeted training and activities.
Registrations for this program are now open. A total of 100 volunteer students and seniors will be selected and trained as Digital Nation Ambassadors (DNA). Additionally, 1000 seniors from nine districts in Ulaanbaatar, who have acquired digital skills, will receive further training and will be empowered to teach digital skills to others.
The program consists of three main phases:
Phase 1- The top 100 selected students and seniors will participate in the program’s opening ceremony in September
Phase 2- Qualified volunteers will undergo training and receive their DNA- National E-Ambassador certification
Phase 3- A team will be formed, and, 1000 seniors will be trained in digital skills over a four-month period, from September to December.
Active and dedicated DNA- National E-Ambassadors who complete the program will receive a volunteer certificate and a voucher for additional training and courses.
